Endometriosis First Information Day
Endometriosis is the emergence and growth of endometrial tissue outside the uterus, especially in the pelvic cavity, ovaries, behind the uterus, uterine ligaments, the bladder or bowel.
It is a relatively common disease that can affect any woman of childbearing age. Endometriosis alters the quality of life of women with the disease, affecting their relationships, family, work and play.
When endometriotic tissue grows, there may be tumors, usually benign. These tumors or implants, women bleed during menstruation is no possibility of blood comes out of the body, developing inflammation.
The main symptoms of endometriosis are pain (mainly in the abdomen, lower back or pelvis), dyspareunia (painful intercourse), voiding symptoms (usually with painful urination), menorrhagia (heavy menstrual bleeding), infertility, intestinal disorders ( as diarrhea or constipation), and asthenia or fatigue.
The Endometriosis Association Affected Madrid (ADAEM), emerges as a need to support and help both to all women who suffer from this disease, such as family and friends in the Community of Madrid.
As part of its activities, will be the first Information Day on Endometriosis, Saturday October 23, 2010. It is intended to give more information with a professional perspective, and as complete as possible of this complex disease. Also, known professionals will attend so they can answer all questions put to them.
